Data Source Integration

As with any application built around the concept of call and case handling, user and customer records, history and service levels, the management of Configuration Items and formalized processes, Touchpaper’s ServiceDesk and Customer ServiceDesk are supported by a database. Both ServiceDesk and Customer ServiceDesk are delivered with data source connectors for all the main industry databases and spreadsheet applications including Oracle® Database Server, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Access and Microsoft Excel.

Enterprise Integration

Touchpaper appreciates that many organizations have invested significant time, budget and resources in the implementation of large-scale applications to support strategic business operations such as enterprise service management and ERP (e.g. manufacturing, HR, payroll, accounting and CRM).  

Our Enterprise Integration Module therefore facilitates seamless integration between Touchpaper’s core ServiceDesk solution and enterprise service management applications such as BMC Remedy Service Management and HP’s Service Management Center, allowing analysts to share and update contact and call details and information about priorities and escalations and to link related incidents, problems and changes.

Providing service desk analysts with access to the functionality of desktop management tools such as Novell ZENWorks, LANDesk Management Suite and Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager as an integrated part of their IT Service Management (ITSM) activities, enables them to deliver faster and more efficient resolution to incidents, problems and changes via their standard Touchpaper user interface.

Network and Systems Management Integration

Directory Services and Identity Management Integration

The introduction of organization-wide directory services for the management of information about IT users and network resources is becoming commonplace.  This integration module allows direct connection between directory services applications such as Microsoft Active Directory and Novell eDirectory™ or other directory services that allow connection via Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP).

The standard Touchpaper Integration Modules described above enable organizations to integrate their Touchpaper ITBM Suite with most leading applications in the areas covered.  However, every organization is different and will have its own list of preferred third party or in-house developed applications leading to very specific and individual integration requirements.   For this reason, Touchpaper has made available OpenTouch.
